Scavi vs Instagram “Saved”: which one helps you find reels later

How they differ, when Instagram’s built-in “Saved” is enough, and when you need search by words from the video.

In short

  • Instagram “Saved” is handy for setting a reel aside in one tap, but you can’t search it: you can only scroll.
  • Scavi transcribes the speech in a video, sums it up and finds the save by a word that was said in the reel. Telegram posts and your own notes live there too.
  • If you save a couple of reels a month, Instagram is enough. If you save dozens and can’t find them later, you need Scavi.

A recipe reel, a place for the weekend, a back stretch: all of it is easy to set aside with the bookmark icon under a post. The trouble starts a month later, when you need to find that one reel. Here is how Instagram’s “Saved” differs from Scavi, and which one suits whom.

How Instagram “Saved” works

Tap the bookmark icon under a post and it goes to the “Saved” section of your profile. Only you can see it. You can sort posts into collections by hand.

  • No search inside. To find a reel, you have to remember what the cover looked like and scroll.
  • Order is manual only. If you don’t sort right away, everything piles up in one feed.
  • A post can disappear. If the author deletes the reel or makes the account private, it vanishes from “Saved” too.

How Scavi works

Scavi is a separate library for everything you save “for later”. You don’t copy or download a reel: you forward it to Scavi in Direct, like you would to a friend. Telegram channel posts go to the bot, and you can write notes there too.

Then Scavi transcribes the speech in the video, writes a short summary and files the save into a collection. You search at app.scavi.app in your phone or computer browser: a save is found by a word even if it was only said out loud and never made it into the caption.

When Instagram is enough

  • You save rarely and remember what you set aside.
  • You want to rewatch reels in full, not find them by a detail.
  • You only save from Instagram and don’t follow Telegram channels.

When you need Scavi

  • You save dozens of reels and posts a month and can’t find them later.
  • You remember a word, not a cover: “sauce”, “terrace”, “stretch”.
  • You want reels, Telegram posts and your own notes in one place.
  • Available with an active Pro plan and your opt-in. The default is 1 day and 2 hours before; you can change the timing. Missing or ambiguous dates require confirmation. Past reminder times are skipped.

Can you use both?

Yes, and that’s the most convenient way. The bookmark in Instagram is for quickly setting a reel aside to rewatch tonight. Scavi is for what you’ll definitely need later and want to find by a word. Forwarding a reel to Scavi is the same gesture as sending it to a friend, so there’s no new habit to learn.

A good rule: if you catch yourself thinking “mustn’t forget this”, forward the reel to Scavi.

FAQ

Will the author know I saved their reel in Scavi?

Scavi never messages the author and never publishes anything. Forwarding in Direct works just like sending the reel to a friend.

Can I move everything from “Saved” to Scavi?

There’s no bulk import yet. You can forward the reels you need one by one straight from “Saved”: open the post, tap “Share” and choose Scavi.

Can I save reels from private accounts?

No, only public ones. If an account is private, Scavi can’t open the video and says so honestly on the card.

How much does Scavi cost?

Free includes 200 saves per calendar month, word search and manual/automatic collections. Pro is $5.99 per month or $49 per year, with 300 monthly saves and Telegram reminders. New subscriptions are not open yet.

Save as usual. Scavi does the finding.

Forward reels and posts, then find them by a single word. 200 saves a month for free.
